Flipside Florida moves into the new year with a slight change in direction. True is the CSX statement below, “Jacksonville offers extraordinary regional, national and international access …”
This is particularly the case in the Caribbean Basin, and, Central and South America. Florida’s 14 ports (of course, Jaxport is the most important) will benefit greatly from the Panama Canal expansion to accommodate Panamax and Post-Panamax vessels. Jacksonville’s relationship with its newest Sister Cities – San Juan, Puerto Rico and Curitiba, Brazil are prime areas for growth opportunities. With this in mind, this website is adding a new category, The Americas.
Several Categories have been modified from their original status. All are linked to their corresponding posts and copy will change as categories are updated:

OVERVIEW:
“Jacksonville offers extraordinary regional, national and international market access through its expanding intermodal transportation system that connects businesses here with nearly 50 million consumers within 600 miles of Northeast Florida, as well as the global marketplace,” said Michael Ward, president and CEO of CSX Corporation.
“In addition to our exceptional port systems, Northeast Florida has clear competitive advantages with three major interstates, three railroads, Jacksonville International Airport and six other regional airports.” – Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce.
Mayport, Fla. is home to the U.S. Navy’s 4th Fleet. The Navy’s strong presence in Northeast Florida supplements maritime and aerospace workforce advantage.
Because of the strategic advantages of the Northeast Florida area, Flipside Florida is dedicated to news features and notes from Jacksonville –America’s Logistics Center.
